The Witcher 3 Returns With 'Songs of the Past' Expansion and Full Remaster Announcement
More than a decade after its last expansion, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to make a major comeback with its newly announced third expansion, ‘Songs of the Past,’ and a full remaster slated for release soon. This time, the spotlight shifts from Ciri and Yennefer to Dandelion, Geralt’s longtime friend and bard, in a fresh story set in a previously unexplored region of the Continent.
A Bard’s Tale Unfolds
Unlike previous expansions, ‘Songs of the Past’ starts not with a crisis involving Ciri or Yennefer, but with Dandelion himself—who’s gone missing. Geralt is drawn into a Dandelion-centric adventure, launching in the new region of Letten, located in northern Redania—Dandelion’s family home, never before seen in the game. This expansion centers on the bond between Geralt and Dandelion, inviting players to a lush mountain valley untouched by war, yet hiding secrets beneath its peaceful surface. Developers describe Letten as both tranquil and full of hidden dangers, ensuring that no Witcher journey is ever without challenges.
The Witcher 3 Gets a Modern Makeover
In addition to the new expansion, a complete Witcher 3 remaster is on the way, aimed at making the 2015 classic feel truly at home in the current gaming era. Set to launch soon, this remaster promises to bring not only visual upgrades, but also the quality-of-life improvements expected from today’s RPGs, all while retaining the core experience that made The Witcher 3 a genre-defining game.
