Marvel’s Wolverine Unleashes New Gameplay Trailer Packed With Easter Eggs and Suit Reveals
With less than a month to go before release, Insomniac Games has debuted a brand-new, four-minute gameplay trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine, ramping up the anticipation for PlayStation 5 players. The latest “Game Features” trailer not only spotlights fast-paced combat and various gameplay systems, but also reveals a handful of Easter Eggs and features longtime fans of Wolverine and the X-Men will appreciate.
Deep Dives Into Combat and Customization
Narrated by Wolverine’s actor, Liam McIntyre, this trailer offers an in-depth look at the game’s mechanics—from its brutal, intricate combat to its diverse enemy selection and rich environments. Players get glimpses of new cutscenes and settings, but the true highlight comes in the form of suit customization. The trailer confirms that Wolverine will have access to about 25 different cosmetic suits, including appearances inspired by “Old Man Logan,” his red and black suit from “Ultimate Wolverine,” and a unique anime-inspired look from Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. In addition to these outfits, the game gives players a range of claw variants to equip, adding another layer of personalization to their experience.
A Classic Meme Returns as a Core Feature
Among the many fan-service moments, one Easter Egg is already causing a stir—a recreated version of the legendary Wolverine meme of Logan reclining on his bed with a picture frame. Insomniac has gone the extra mile, incorporating this moment not just as a throwaway reference, but as an animation tied to replaying completed levels—making it a recurring, interactive part of the game. With the promise of more Easter Eggs scattered throughout, Marvel’s Wolverine is shaping up to be a love letter to fans both old and new.
Marvel’s Wolverine launches exclusively for PS5 on September 15th.
