Avengers: Doomsday's second trailer drops at D23 — Doom takes on the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and an army of Sentinels
Marvel Studios pulled back the curtain on Avengers: Doomsday at Disney’s D23 fan event on Friday, debuting the film’s second trailer — and it wastes no time putting Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom at the heart of the story.
Per Variety, the trailer shows Doom squaring off against a staggering lineup: Mister Fantastic and the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and the Avengers, with Doom commanding an army of Sentinels. It’s the clearest look yet at the scale Marvel is aiming for as the Multiverse Saga barrels toward its climax.
The biggest crossover on the board
Doomsday is stacking its cast unlike anything the MCU has attempted. Downey Jr. leads as Doom — reportedly speaking with a Latverian accent — opposite the new Fantastic Four (Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and a legacy X-Men contingent that includes Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, Alan Cumming and Kelsey Grammer, alongside returning Avengers.
When you can see it
Avengers: Doomsday is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026. With the D23 trailer now out in the world, expect the theory machine to run at full speed until release.
How are you feeling about the MCU’s next chapter — cautiously optimistic, or all in?
