Arc Raiders Delays Future Expeditions Until Early 2027 for Major Overhaul

Arc Raiders players are in for a longer wait before their next chance to reset and prestige their Raiders. Embark Studios has announced that all future Expeditions will be delayed until early 2027, with the development team seeking to implement major improvements in response to player feedback. The confirmation arrives just as Expedition 5 is set to run September 8–29, marking the last active run before the extended hiatus begins.

Why Expeditions Are Being Paused

According to Embark Studios, the decision follows an in-depth review of community comments and experiences with Expeditions—a late-game mechanic that encourages replayability via reset progression. While the studio has made “ongoing improvements,” some issues raised by players, such as tight departure windows, reward structure, and newcomer accessibility, require more substantial changes rather than small tweaks. Instead of sticking with incremental updates, Embark is banking on a significant overhaul, with more details promised in September.

During the pause, buffs earned from previous Expeditions will be preserved. Additionally, players who finish every Expedition to date will unlock the Zenith outfit, while those with incomplete Caravans will see their progress replaced with Ermal Vouchers of equivalent value, tradeable for various in-game items or currency.

Other Live Service Updates and Community Reaction

The delay isn’t the only change on the horizon. Embark also revealed that weekly Trials will go on hold from September 22 to October 8. Although Arc Raiders continues to attract a steady—if smaller—community after its 2025 debut, some fans have voiced frustration with the live service cadence, noting sparse updates and the risk of diminishing long-term progression. The upcoming Frozen Trail update, scheduled for October, will bring a new map and some of the “biggest” changes yet, but many players remain cautious, hoping the next chapter delivers on promised improvements.
